Inch Park Community Sports HubA quote from someone saying 'I would normally go to the pub to watch the football but instead I can come to the Den and I don't need to drink.'

Awarded £3940 for supporting Omaz’s Den, a new group for young people.

The grant has allowed Inch Park Community Sports Hub, through partners Omaz’s Den, to provide enriching experiences for young people such as creative workshops, social activities, and outings. It has given the group security and consistency essential for its members who rely on the space as a regular point of connection and support. The aim of this group is to reduce isolation, remove barriers to participating in positive activities, offer opportunities for new and existing friendships.

Crafts, quizzes, and games continue to be the most popular parts of the sessions, and feedback has suggested that most participants value the social connections, attending when they are free rather than choosing sessions based on specific activities offered.

There has also been a positive impact on aligned services, for example counselling sessions, which run alongside the group, now get fully booked.  Including indirect beneficiaries (families, partners, and friends), it’s estimated around 60–70 people have benefited from the funding over the past year.
