How we go about making the changes permanent

An Experimental Traffic Regulation Order is a legal mechanism used to introduce 18 month trials to change the layout of a road. It allows us to test the impacts of the changes on the area and look at potential changes.

It can be used to introduce changes to parking, loading and the movement of certain vehicles such as general traffic.

As part of the trial, we will carry out a six-month public consultation when you can raise comments, objections or statements of support to the proposed experimental order. Find out how to comment.

This information, alongside other monitoring data we will collect, will be considered by councillors at the TRO Sub-committee, where a decision will be made on making the changes permanent.
