Charge point network is changing in March 2026

We have over 120 public charging points across Edinburgh on the ChargePlace Scotland network. As our main supplier and maintenance provider no longer supports electric vehicle charging points, we are moving to the WattStop network, provided by Fuuse, in early March 2026

If you use ChargePlace Scotland, you will need to move to the WattStop network when they take over the charging points.

We’ll start moving our charging points at Ingliston Park and Ride, and Hermiston Park and Ride on Tuesday, 3 March 2026.  Your ChargePlace Scotland account won’t work from midnight on Tuesday, 2 March 2026.

We’ll start moving our charging points at our other locations on Wednesday, 4 March 2026.  Your ChargePlace Scotland account won’t work from midnight on Wednesday, 3 March 2026

There will be no change to our current charging point tariffs with this network change.

What you need to do

  1. You must download the WattStop app from or the so that you can access our charging points.

  2. Create an account to access our charging points.

RFID card users

Your ChargePlace Scotland RFID card will no longer work once our charging points have been moved to the WattStop network.

WebPay

ChargePlace Scotland’s pay-as-you-go service, WebPay, will no longer work on our charging points.

You can still pay-as-you-go once our charging points have been moved to the WattStop network by scanning the QR code on the charging point.

Contactless payments

You can continue to use contactless payment at all our charging points that accept contactless.
