Tinder Box Collective helps young people in North East Edinburgh express themselves through music.

Tuesday music club

Weekly music club for children and young people aged 10 years old to 18 years old. Young people can play in a band, take instrumental lessons, sing, rap, do sound production and more. The group is for complete beginners and experienced young musicians, that is bursting with creativity, community spirit and a lot of fun. Sessions run every Tuesday 6pm to 8pm at

Outdoor Play Rangers sessions 

These play sessions are free and fun for children aged five to 13 years. You can drop in and join in outdoor play activities. Games, construction tasks, messy and scrap play. Sessions are open to all and normally run on Fridays at Brunstane Primary School and Magdalene Community Centre between 12.30pm and 2.30pm and at Bingham Park between 3.15pm and 5pm. Sessions are all year round except during the Christmas school holidays.

Lyra

A vibrant multi-arts programme for children and young people aged five to 18 years from the Greater Craigmillar area (EH16 4 postcode) to take part in free arts activities, learning skills in creative industries, music, dance, theatre and more. With weekly workshops, theatre trips and chances to perform, Lyra’s projects bring children and young people together with arts professionals from Scotland and abroad to work side-by-side on world-class projects and productions.

Pilmeny Development Project youth groups

Juniors Youth Group

For children aged five to nine years to enjoy a variety of activities such as cooking, baking, sports, art, gaming, play, games and trips. The group runs on Wednesdays from 4.30pm to 6pm.

Girls Group

Supporting and empowering girls aged eight to 12 years with activities such as cooking, baking, sports, art workshops, one-to-one support and trips. The group runs on Thursdays from 3.45pm to 5.15pm.

Mixed youth group

This group welcomes young people from all backgrounds but is mostly focused on supporting Sikh children aged five to 12 years old to have a safe space in the community to play. They can enjoy a variety of activities such as cooking, baking, sports, gaming, art, science and games on Fridays from 1.30pm to 3pm.

Starpic Project 

Delivering free youth work activities for children and young people aged from five to 16 years in the Bingham, Niddrie and surrounding areas. Build confidence, meet new people, learn new skills and have fun in a safe environment with Starpic Project’s dedicated staff team. The activities are fun, engaging, and suggestions come from the young people.

The Venchie Children and Young People’s Project 

The Venchie offers different projects for education, social development, health and fun for children and young people in Craigmillar.

PANDAS (Breakfast Club)

Each school day morning, children are collected from home, if needed, and arrive at The Venchie for a healthy breakfast before being walked to school.

After School Clubs

Running for children in P1, P2 and P3 on Mondays and Wednesdays from 3pm to 5pm

Running for children in P4, P5, P6 on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3pm to 5.30pm

Running for P7 and high school pupils on Tuesdays from 5.30pm to 7.30pm

Holiday Playschemes

Each school holiday session runs from 11am to 3pm every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday for all school pupils.
