Black, Asian and minority ethnic support for school leavers

SCOREScotland (Strengthening Communities for Race Equality Scotland) 

Supporting Black and Minority Ethnic children and young people in Wester Hailes and South West Edinburgh.

They offer support for children and young people in Wester Hailes, which includes;

  • Employability and Careers Guidance Project
  • Bike library service for children and young people, cycle training and bike maintenance

CashBack Youth X-change 

Supporting young people aged 11 to 24 years in Wester Hailes and South West Edinburgh who are struggling to stay away from things that could get them into trouble with the police or others. The project offers weekly sessions on skills for life like leadership, financial literacy, team building and career options.

It can also help with supports and opportunities like volunteering, improving health and wellbeing through sports and activities such as creative writing, street art workshops, music and ways to access one-to-one support like mentoring, befriending or counselling.

Intercultural Youth Scotland 

The Block youth group  

A youth club for children and young people aged 14 years old to 25 years old. A place to meet other young people and connect, whether it’s a game of Uno, crafting, writing workshops or open mic nights, there is always something to do. There is also the chance to showcase talents and creativity through performances, gigs, and social media content - helping you take your skills to the next level. There is an Arabic speaker who attends the group also. The group runs on Tuesdays from 4pm to 8pm at
