Domestic Abuse Services
Are you worried about your behaviour towards your partner? Are you worried about the impact this may have on your relationship and your family as a whole? If so, the Domestic Abuse Service can help you change your behaviour by assisting you to have a better understanding about domestic abuse and helping you to come terms with how you have behaved. We can also assist you to develop knowledge and skills that can help you to behave differently in the future. We have worked with a lot of men and understand how hard it is to ask for help. When you decide that you need to change you have already taken the most important step. Your partner and children have the right to feel safe around you.
We offer a service to people who have been convicted of a domestic abuse offence as a condition of a Court Order or to others, who are worried about their behaviour and want to get help to change but do not have any pending charges. We will meet with you to talk about your behaviour and why you want to change and if we think we can help, we will offer you the opportunity to participate in the Caledonian Programme either as part of a Court Order or voluntarily. The Caledonian Programme is an accredited programme to help people who have behaved abusively towards their partners, change their behaviour.
We aim to help you:
- understand why you have been abusive
- take responsibility for your behaviour and attitudes
- take responsibility in your relationship with your partner or ex-partner and children
- behave positively
If you are worried about your behaviour, contact us to speak to someone call 0131 469 5325 or email
Justice Services also have a women’s service for partners and ex-partners of men who engage in our service. We do not work with men and women side by side as couples.
