- This policy applies to 鈥渄irected surveillance鈥�. Directed surveillance is defined in the relevant Code of Practice as undertaken 鈥渇or the purposes of a specific investigation or operation鈥� and 鈥渋n such a manner as is likely to result in the obtaining of private information about a person鈥�. This includes repeated and systematic viewings of a subject鈥檚 social media sites.
