Reopen Craighall Road - Petitions (Open)

Petition details
Some of the old buildings of Trinity Academy are being demolished, and the road alongside has been closed since June last year, and expected to be closed until at least August 2028. The closure of Craighall Road was not advertised reasonably to residents and businesses ahead of time, the City of Βι¶ΉΣ³» and the Trinity & Newhaven Community Council, along with residents, were not consulted on the closure, and the road must be at least partially reopened (to cyclists, and to cars when the building site is not in use, and most importantly to emergency vehicles, which still attempt to use the road). Residents and businesses are reporting increased theft in the area as gangs of masked youths gain access to establishments, escaping past the building site where no police cars are able to give chase. This is causing a significant amount of fear and alarm in the area, and people are understandably distressed by the serious lack of council support and transparency on how the road closure was pushed through with almost non-existent notice to local residents.
